Het bekendste Halloween-evenement ter wereld: dit weten we tot nu toe over Halloween Horror Nights 2025 in Universal Orlando

Vergeet de Halloween Fright Nights in Walibi Holland, of de Halloween Nights in Attractiepark Toverland. Aan de andere kant van de oceaan is het pas echt horror, dood en verderf. Terwijl de meeste parken zich hier in Nederland nog volop focussen op de zomer, is in Universal Orlando al lang de knop omgezet voor Halloween. Hier vind je namelijk het bekendste Halloween-evenement ter wereld, namelijk de Halloween Horror Nights. Wat kunnen bezoekers van Universal in 2025 verwachten? Hieronder staat een overzicht van wat we tot nu toe weten. Scrollen maar!

Vanaf 29 augustus barst het griezeligste feest weer los in Universal Orlando. De Halloween Horror Nights 2025 bestaan ook dit jaar weer uit gruwelijke spookhuizen, enge scare zones en griezelig live entertainment. Het overkoepelende thema van dit jaar is The Conservatory. Eén ding is alvast zeker, bezoekers die bang zijn aangelegd zullen extra onderbroeken moeten meenemen. 2025 is ook het jaar van het debuut van Five Nights at Freddy’s. Wat kunnen we hiervan verwachten? Details ontbreken nog.

En voor alle duidelijkheid: De Halloween Horror Nights vinden niet plaats in Epic Universe of Islands of Adventure.

Spookhuizen

Laten we eens beginnen met de spookhuizen. Universal heeft al het een en ander naar buiten gebracht, waaronder het huis Terrifier met niemand minder dan Art the Clown. Je weet wel, de franchise waarbij meerdere Amerikanen de bioscoopzaal uit moesten vluchten vanwege misselijkmakende beelden.

Terrifier

Try your luck against Art the Clown in the Terrifier funhouse. You’ll witness his grotesque handiwork of torture and be exposed to the spatter of his victims. It’s a whole new level of gore!

Grave of Flesh

Welcome to your funeral, where it’s about to go from bad to worse. You’ll enter the underworld and be hunted by flesh-eaters for eternity.

Dolls: Let’s Play Dead

You’re about to become doll-sized and be hunted by toys that have been burnt, melded and stitched together by a twisted little girl.

Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters

In this Old West town, all hell is breaking loose. Red-hot lava demons are trying to possess everyone, melting everything in their path.

El Artista: A Spanish Haunting

In 19th century Spain, a tortured artist moves into an isolated country manor for inspiration, but the art comes alive and possesses him.

Jason Universe

“Jason Universe” will take Halloween Horror Nights guests on a vengeance tour throughout the summer camp to see where it all began, from the creaking floorboards of Jason’s ramshackle cabin to the decaying main lodge and the eerie forest that offers no refuge for his victims. Around every corner, fans will be inundated with infamous killer moments from Jason’s heinous homicidal career as he taunts and stalks his victims who learn too late that the legend is real.

Fallout

In this terrifying haunted house, fans will encounter iconic scenes and characters that will put them into the frightening action of the popular series. The journey begins beneath the surface in Vault 33, where guests follow vault-dweller Lucy MacLean as she escapes a bloody massacre, only to discover an evil hidden secret. From there, visitors venture to the surface, where they must dodge attacks from Scavengers and Raiders, desperate survivors who will do anything to remain alive, as well as mutated cockroaches known as RAD Roaches. As guests travel through the hellish Wasteland, they will go through iconic locations like the Super Duper Mart and encounter The Ghoul, an ageless bounty hunter who has endured radiation exposure for centuries. Additionally, they will come face-to-face with a young squire named Maximus and gaze in awe at his T-60 armor. With frightful terrors at every turn of the eerily authentic haunted house, fans will question if they can ever escape the horrors of The Wasteland.

Zoals je ziet valt er al genoeg te vrezen in dit park. Ook zonder de spookhuizen te bezoeken loop je tegen griezels op. Laten we eens kijken wat er dit jaar aan scare zones zijn.

Scare zones

Op dit moment zijn er twee scare zones bekend. De eerste is Origins of Horror. Deze zone is een idee van Universal Orlando en staat dus los van een bestaande franchise.

Enter a decaying conservatory of twisted vines where artists carve tributes to Halloween Horror Nights 34. You’ll encounter monstrous crows, gargoyles, and more.

De tweede zone heet Masquerade: Dance with Death.

You’re invited to a masquerade ball where bloodthirsty vampires lurk behind ornate disguises. When their masks fall, you’ll become their prey.

Zoals eerder gezegd zal ook Five Nights at Freddy’s zijn opwachting maken voor Halloween Horror Nights 2025. Maar in welke vorm? Misschien wel in een scare zone.
